STORYTIME:
This is how much my daughter and hubby love Peanuts & the Gang- Naomi had a Peanuts & Gang 9th birthday party, her room was decorated in the same theme, we had a family outing to the Peanuts museum for hubby’s birthday, own a couple of books, there’s Peanuts clothing in a few of the closets, we have a Christmas DVD special, a fall DVD special, and other episodes at our disposal; each year, they are dusted off for holiday viewings. We have yet to decorate our tree in a Charlie Brown theme, but I’m sure that will come in time :) Charlie lives on in these 2 people and you get to join them.
Charlie Brown Side
PREP
Glue the yellow construction paper onto the front of the bag, centering it before laying it down.
Use a 1/2 sheet of black to create Charlie’s zig zag. We just free handed it* and spaced it out with our hands.
Cut the zig zag out and glue it to the center, horizontally.
*You may use a ruler here if you’d prefer.
PUMPKIN & MESSAGE
Fold the orange paper in half and draw* half the pumpkin on the seam area.
Cut out the pumpkin, add lines in pencil to define the sections, and then glue near the zig zag.
Add a stem and/or a vine and write “HAPPY PUMPKINS”.
* You may draw any sized pumpkin.
Great Pumpkin Side
PREP
Lay the blue paper behind the bag and horizontally, making sure it is lined up with the edge of the bag.
Trace the edge of the bag onto the blue paper and cut it out.
Lift open the flap and glue the blue paper onto the upper portion.
MOON
Use a bowl/cup to trace a moon on the white paper.
Color the moon yellow or leave it white and glue it onto the blue paper.
PUMPKIN FIELD
Line up the green paper the same way and trim off the extra.
You’ll need a strip of green paper on the front of the bag that meets at the blue paper.
Fold the green paper where the natural fold in the bag is and glue it on.
4. Use half of the light green paper and fold into eighths.
5. Draw greenery on the front and carefully cut out all the layers.
6. Repeat with the dark green paper and create stems if you’d like.
Naomi chose to free hand her greenery.
PUMPKINS & MESSAGE
Use a fourth sheet of orange paper and fold into 1/16’s, draw a pumpkin and cut out all the layers.
Glue the pumpkins and greenery.
Add stars with the yellow pencil and write “THE GREAT PUMPKIN”
That’s it!
Happy crafting!
Amanda and Naomi
