Clover Suncatcher

Hi friends,

We’ve got beautiful clover suncatchers with layers of green tissue. You can make them with as many shades of green as you choose. Then tape them to your window or slider for a colorful St. Patty’s decoration and let the light do its job! Check out the clover suncatchers below.

What You'll Need

  1. (2) Green Construction Papers

  2. Green Tissue Papers

  3. Wax Paper

  4. Glue

  5. Scissors

  6. Pencil

  7. Paint Brush

  8. Mixing Container

    Optional: Small Bowl, Tape

The Steps

We started with the clover outline, but for a quicker process, cut and glue the tissue paper to the wax paper, and then proceed with these steps while the tissue dries.

CLOVER

  1. Stack the 2 green sheets together and draw the 4-leaf clover or use a small bowl and trace the outer edges x4.

  2. Draw an inner border and a stem at the bottom.

Optional: Tape 2 of the opposite corners to stabilize the sheets, before cutting the clovers out.

3. Cut out the clover.

Optional: If creating more than one clover (we used light green and dark green paper), trace it over the next sheets of paper, then cut them out as well.

4. Cut out the inner section of the clover and discard.

GLUE & TISSUE

  1. Mix a bit of glue with water until it is slightly thinned and easy to brush on.

  2. Stack your tissue papers, fold accordion style a few times, and cut into strips. You can also tear the tissue into pieces.

  3. Brush glue onto the wax paper, lay your tissue pieces down slightly overlapping them, and then brush more glue over them. Continue until you have a large enough area for the clover.

4. Add glue to the underside of the clover, press it down on the wet tissue paper, and let them dry together.

5. Once the tissue is 90% dry, cut off the excess, peel off the wax paper from behind, and then glue it to the 2nd clover.

That’s it!

Place the clovers on a window or string and hang up near a window.

Happy crafting
