Hi friends,
We created a Jurassic Park Cardboard Gate for fun dinosaur playtime or a themed prop.
Our youngest is having a Jurassic-themed birthday soon, which inspired the craft. The gate will be a fun addition to his dinosaur collection and enhance his playtime. So don’t toss out your cardboard just yet; use it to create a Jurassic gate. Check it out below.

PREP
Cut the cardboard with one seam intact and as large as you’d like. Our cardboard was about 12in wide x 16in long.
Measure your length and at 1/4 of that length, draw the double doors.
Draw the large angled posts on each side, the sections, 6 torches, and the arch.
PAINT
Paint the posts, sections, and arch in a mixture of grey and black, and the torches in black.
Paint the doors with brown and a mixture of brown and black for the darker shade.
On the arch, write JURASSIC PARK in pencil and follow it with both the yellow and red paints.
Layer the red and yellow paints for the flames and add plants in a mixture of green, grey, and brown.
ASSEMBLE
Cut around the sides, above the arch, the seam right up to the arch, and the section between the doors and the arch.
Cut the section under both doors, stopping at the posts. Leave the bottom sections attached.
Place your scissors on the line between the door and the post, then bend open. Repeat with the other door.
Place the scissors between the posts and lower sections and fold up, then stand up the gate and place the rocks on each side, or glue them on.
Lastly, overlap the bottom pieces a bit.
That’s it!
Happy crafting
Amanda and Naomi
