POP'N IN First Day of School Card

Hi friends,

Today we’re sharing our popcorn-themed POP’N IN First Day of School Card.

Popcorn themed first day of school card for teachers.

We enjoy giving first-day-of-school cards and have received great feedback. It’s a nice surprise for the teacher, it helps them remember a few details about the kids, and when a photo is included, helps them identify my students. Check it out below.

PREP

  1. Turn your paper vertically and fold it in half. I like to make two and keep one as a memento.

  2. Cut out the POP words from the popcorn bag, then open the bottom of the bag, and place the striped section facing up.

  3. Draw a popcorn box and cut through both layers.

BOX, POPCORN, & MESSAGE

  1. Glue a striped box near the bottom of the card.

  2. With a dark yellow marker draw clusters of popcorn, then fill in the rounded edges with a bright yellow marker.

  3. Angle and glue the POP word near the top, then draw an apostrophe and the letter N. Underneath, write IN FOR A NEW SCHOOL YEAR!

  4. Optionally, you can include Mr./Mrs./Miss at the top, the teacher’s name, and the school year.

PRINTABLE & PHOTO

  1. Have your child fill in the prompts. If you plan to keep a memento, copy the filled-in sheet before gluing inside the card.

  2. For the teacher’s card, write a message on the inside. For the memento card, write a message to your child: what they did during the summer, how you prepared for school, how tall they are, if they lost any teeth, and so on.

  3. Fold the printable in half and glue inside the card.

  4. Lastly, include a recent photo of your child on the inside. If you’d like to include a small gift, here are some options: Movie theater gift card, popcorn, fizzy drink, or candy.

That’s it!

Happy crafting
