POPPY Teacher/Greeting Cards

Hi Friends,

We created deep orange Poppy Teacher/Greeting Cards, adding a nice personal touch for your teachers, moms, or other celebrations.

Along with celebrating our teacher during Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week, we had the added bonus of celebrating the sweet student teacher my little guy had this year, Miss C. She received a card with the larger flower and some treats. Check the options for a large flower or small ones below.

PREP

  1. Fold your white paper into fourths and cut it into two sections.

SMALL PETALS

  1. Turn your orange paper horizontally and fold it into thirds

  2. Cut out the sections and fold one strip into thirds.

  3. On the folded strip, draw wide ovals with a rounded top, repeat multiple times, then cut out the petals.

  4. Glue five petals per flower, and about 2-3 inches above the bottom edge.

LARGE PETALS

  1. On the last 1-2 strips, draw a wide oval with a round top, cut it out, and trace it four more times.

  2. Slightly fold the petals in the center, then glue the bottom ends to the card.

GREENERY- optional

  1. Cut a narrow strip of green paper wide enough for the card, and cut small grass blades.

  2. Fold rectangle sections of green paper in half, then fold them into triangles.

    a) Draw half of a jagged leaf on each triangle before cutting out.

FLOWER CENTER

  1. Small Flowers: trace the glue stick end four times onto the black paper, cut out the circles, then wrap the circles around the end of the pencil.

    a) Large Flower: draw a circle bigger than the end of the glue stick, cut it out, then wrap it around the glue stick.

ASSEMBLE

  1. Add grass, flower stems, leaves, and the centers to your flowers.

  2. Write the teacher/recipient’s name on the outside and your note on the inside.

That’s it!

Happy crafting,

Amanda and Naomi
