Silly Face Sun~Stick Puppet

Hi Friends,

How’s your January looking? We’re lacking in the sunshine department as expected. We’ve had some but not enough to warm us up, rain which keeps us indoors and plenty of cold. Even with the heater running I’ll wear sweaters during the day. At night, I sleep with long PJ’s, socks, and a sweater lol So we’re bringing you some sunshine humor. You see, these sun puppets are cold themselves and showing it :) This little craft is SO simple, the “hardest” part was figuring out which wacky faces to make. Check it out below!

What You'll Need

  1. (4) Yellow Cupcake Liners

  2. (1-2) Brown Pipe Cleaners

  3. Scissors

  4. Glue

  5. (4) Popsicle Sticks

  6. (8) Googly Eyes (any size)

The Steps

  1. Press the liners flat, just enough to work with.

2. Add glue for the eyes.

I chose medium sized ones, Naomi chose 1 small & 1 medium for her suns.

3. Cut the pipe cleaner into 1/4’s for each liner or use more if you’d like.

4. Create eye brows, eye lashes, mustache, smile, or nose.

5. Glue on as well.

I created a mustache & mouth for 1 of the suns and 1 with lips. Naomi made 1 with a crooked smile and 1 that resemble “Forky” of Toy Story.

6. Last, glue the Popsicle sticks about half way up on the liner.

Let dry for 10 min.

Happy crafting!

Amanda and Naomi
