Holding My Hand: Mother's Day Poem

Mother’s Day Coloring, Mom’s Day Poem, Mom’s Day Gift, Cheap Crafts, Easy Craft, Free Printable

Hi friends,

Naomi and I were recently discussing Mother’s Day, she wished there was a sister’s day, kind of like a Mom’s day but for sisters. She said, “I’m like a mom, I should get presents too. We both laughed because it seemed like an unlikely holiday. It turns out there IS a Sister’s Day, but it’s celebrated among the women/girls who’ve had a sisterly impact in each other’s life. Not siblings celebrating their “mom” sisters, as she hoped.

But today’s activity provides a sweet & somewhat cheesy way your kiddos can celebrate YOU or help another kiddo celebrate their mom. You can print these at full size or smaller and frame them. As a gift, include a treat and a photograph of the child and his/her mom holding hands, for an easy, meaningful touch. Check it out below.

What You'll Need

  1. Coloring Page

  2. Colored Pencils

Optional: Frame, Holding Hands Photo, Treat

The Steps

  1. The child colors the top hand as their own and the bottom hand as their mom’s.

  2. Color in the flowers and greenery.

    That’s it!

    Super easy = )

Make this a gift! Surprise a mom in your life with this poem. Have her children color it in, then you snap a photo of each child holding her hand, and gift it to her with any of these poem gift options: sneakers, spicy or sweet treats, journal, new “beats”, gloves, or weights/workout gear.

I thought this was pretty neat…

On the left, I colored one representing my mom’s hand holding mine. And then on the right, Naomi colored that little girl’s grown-up hand, holding her own daughter’s hand.

GAH, I’m not emotional, you are.

My hand and Naomi’s <3

Side note, I never imagined having a girl.

My hubby’s family is FULL of boys, our firstborn is a boy. So those of us who were fortunate to have a few of the girls were equally shocked. As much as I LOVE my boys (3 of them, 3 -17 yrs old), I have had so much fun with my sassy, talented, funny, and loving girl.

There you go Naomi, your very own Sister’s Day appreciation lol

Happy crafting!
