Fall Pumpkin Arrangement

Fall floral arrangement inside pumpkin

Hi friends,

We’re taking a little detour from our typical kid-friendly crafts, to bring you something a little more grown-up = ). This pumpkin arrangement is easy and inexpensive to make and uses faux florals. With a quick fix, the pumpkin arrangement can be used with fresh flowers too! We’ll show you our two options and how to achieve the third one. Check it out below!

What You'll Need

  1. Foam Pumpkins

  2. Flat Weighted Base

  3. Craft Paint & Brush

  4. Knife

  5. Hot Glue

  6. Faux Floral

  7. Surface Protector

    Optional: Paint Pan, Wire Cutters

The Steps

a)You can use an orange foam pumpkin if white is not available. b)To get our rich orange, we used a larger amount of wine color with our orange paint.

  1. Squirt your paint onto your pumpkin and paint or if needed, mix first in a paint pan.

  2. Let the pumpkin dry for about 10 minutes.

There were lots of cute fibreboard(MDF) pieces at Dollar Tree, some with designs or sayings that would work as well. We preferred the look of this checkered house.

3. Add hot glue to the center of your base and let cool for a few seconds, then firmly press the foam pumpkin down.

*Faux floral found at Dollar Tree, greenery at Walmart.

FAUX FLORAL

4. Carefully cut a circle out from the top of the pumpkin or score the top of the pumpkin with a knife and a small cup first.

5. Touch up any paint if needed.

6. Use wire cutters to trim the *floral & greenery (faster) or just wiggle back & forth until the wire snaps in half before arranging your floral pieces.

That’s it!

For a simple and muted look, we used pale green greenery, cream berries, and yellow grass.

For this second look, we worked with the above starter arrangement and added ivory, peach, burgundy, and pale orange flowers.

FRESH FLORAL

To use fresh flowers/greenery, place a short & narrow glass or vase inside the pumpkin opening. Add water and arrange your fresh stems.

*Make sure your base is sturdy enough to hold heavier stems or keep them shorter.

What do you think?!?

The pumpkin arrangements turned out beautifully and work great for your thanksgiving table or any time of the year ,with a careful paint change.

Happy crafting!
