Crocodile Cheers Craft

Hi friends,

Today we have a cute crocodile & alligator craft, each with a mouthful of teeth and a message on the inside. We turned plain craft paper into chompin’, cheerin’ crocodiles, in celebration of the New Year, birthdays, or just for fun. Check out our crocodile cheers craft below!

What You'll Need

  1. (1) Green, Pink, & White Papers

  2. Scissors

  3. Pencil

  4. Marker

  5. Gluestick

The Steps

HEAD

  1. Fold both the green and pink papers in half.

  2. Decide on a crocodile(narrow/pointy mouth) or an alligator( wider/squared mouth, above), then fold the bottom corners inward slightly.

Crocodile: The top corner folds will be wider and create a pointy mouth.

Alligator: (shown above)The top corner folds will be about 1 inch wide and create a squared mouth.

3. Trace the green paper onto the pink paper and cut the excess from both at the folded/traced areas. Save the extra green paper.

TEETH

  1. Turn your white paper horizontally, fold it about 1 to 1.5 inches, and cut out the 2 strips.

  2. Fold both strips in half, cut out the teeth, and separate the pieces.

For an alligator, cut out an extra small section of white paper and repeat step 2.

MOUTH

  1. Glue the teeth to the edge of the green paper and the pink parts right on top of those.

  2. Add extra glue to the wider parts of the green & pink paper and overlap before pressing down firmly. Set aside to dry.

EYES

  1. Stack two of the green triangles, draw a large/tall dome(long enough to place the eyeball on and fold the bottom edge), and cut out both domes.

  2. Fold a small piece of white paper in half, trace the gluestick end, and cut out both eyeballs.

  3. Draw a reflection oval in each eye before coloring in the eye.

  4. Slightly fold the bottom edge of the dome under and glue the eyeballs on.

MESSAGE & FINISHING TOUCHES

  1. Cut out a section of white paper and write one of these messages in pencil & marker, with either crocodile or alligator in the phrase:

NO CROCODILE(ALLIGATOR) tears, ONLY CHOMPIN’ CHEERS!

NO CROCODILE(ALLIGATOR) tears, ONLY A CHOMPIN’ NEW YEARS!

NO CROCODILE (ALLIGATOR) tears, ONLY CHOMPIN’ BIRTHDAY CHEERS!

  2. Fold all your teeth up.

  3. Glue the eyes to the top of the crocodile/alligator head and draw the nostrils.

*We meant to use the alligator intro with the alligator on the right, but happened to write crocodile = )

4. Fold the top part of the head over in half, pressing down on the wider section.

5. Last, glue the message onto the bottom of the mouth.

That’s it!

Happy crafting!
