Charlie Brown Treat Bag

Hi friends,

We’re bringing a little nostalgia back for this week’s craft. My little guy will be six later this month, because his birthday falls on a summer break day, he wouldn’t have had a class party. So we planned for an early celebration, packed treat bags in his Charlie Brown theme, and brought them in.

Our treat bags contained a donut and 2 activities, but you can customize it with your preferred yellow treat. Check out our Charlie Brown treat bags below.

What You'll Need

  1. Charlie Brown Labels (4) per sheet

  2. Clear Treat Bags

  3. Black Paper

  4. Yellow Beverage Napkins

  5. Yellow Balloons

  6. Pencil

  7. Scissors

  8. Glow Sticks, Bracelets, or Necklaces

  9. Stapler

  10. Sugar Donuts, Plain Cookies, or Twinkies

Optional: Parchment Paper Pieces for donuts, Snack Size Bags for cookies

The Steps

LABELS

  1. Customize the labels by adding your child’s pluralized name and age before printing them or print them, cut, and write them out(4 labels per page).

  2. Fold the labels in half and set them aside.

ZIG-ZAGS

  1. Fold your black paper into fourths and create the zig-zags.

  2. Cut the zig-zags and them aside.

BALLOONS

  1. While opening the balloon wide with both hands, use a few free fingers to slide in 1 zig-zag, then hold the end of the zig-zag from the bottom of the balloon before releasing it. Repeat with all the balloons.

GLOW STICKS

  1. Pull the glow sticks, bracelets, or necklaces from the packaging and add the connectors/caps if necessary. Do not snap them to activate, the kids will get that chance.

ASSEMBLE

  1. Place a napkin, paper-covered donut, or treat of choice (cookies, Twinkie, Nilla Wafers, mini banana, etc.), glow stick(nontoxic & nonflammable), and zig-zag balloon inside the bag.

  2. Gather the sides of the bag, fold it down a bit, add the folded label, and then staple shut. Repeat the whole process until you have enough treat bags.

That’s it!

A juice pouch can be included separately and the treat bags work great as parting gifts too.

*Naomi was out of school early that day so she got to be a surprise guest. She helped distribute the bags to Matthias's classmates and be a part of his celebration. It just made it that more special for Matthias and for this mama = )

Happy crafting!
