KUNG FU PANDA: ZHEN

Hi friends,

We’re showing you the completed Zhen Fox character from Kung Fu Panda 4: and how we created the body portion.

Last week we showed you how to create Zhen’s face, this week we’re using similar supplies for a simplified character representation. Check out Zhen Fox below.

What You'll Need

  1. (1) Yellow, Black, Grey, Light Blue, & Black Construction Papers

  2. Pencil

  3. Black Colored Pencil

  4. Scissors

  5. Glue

The Steps

ROBE

  1. Turn the dark blue paper vertically and draw rounded shoulders (ours turned out too wide), a narrow waist, hips, and a peaked bottom hem(save the peak cutout).

  2. Cut out the robe, optionally- cut a wedge (v)out near each shoulder(O) leaving a wide neck area(TT) to attach the head to(see right) OvTTvO.

    a) With the black pencil trace the outer edges, draw a cowl neck, a crease under the armpits, and a diagonal line from the peak.

  3. Add a bit of glue to the peak cutout, angle the peak behind the robe so it lines up with the longer robe piece, and press.

LIMBS

  1. Fold your light blue paper in half and draw 1 bent arm (about 2 inches wide)with an angled wrist and 1 leg(about 3 inches wide) with an angled hem.

    a) Cut out the arms/legs, flip the 2nd copy in the opposite direction, and trace the edges with the black pencil.

  2. Use last week’s gray scraps or new paper and fold it over about 3 inches, draw 1 hand with 3 fingers, and 1 block foot with 3 toes and a narrow sole.

    a) Cut out the hands/feet, flip the 2nd copy in the opposite direction, and then trace them all with the black pencil.

  3. Glue the hands to the sleeves and the feet to the legs.

BELT/BUCKLE

  1. Draw and cut a narrow T belt for the robe.

  2. Trace the glue stick onto the yellow paper, cut out the buckle, then glue it to the belt.

    a) Glue the belt to the waist.

LIMBS

4. Angle the arms, one higher than the other, and glue to the robe.

a) Glue the legs between the robe pieces and the head to the neck.

That’s it!

Happy crafting
