Orange Bug Boy

Hi friends,

We’re sharing this jolly Orange Bug Boy craft, with bright features and colorful antennae, inspired by our buddy.

Our friend made his with markers and a canvas piece; we used paper and a few more items. Be inspired like our brave buddy and make his orange bug boy craft. Check it out below.

PREP

Antennae

  1. Cut a 4-inch section from each pipe cleaner, fold down one end, and curve the opposite end.

Head

  1. Draw an oblong face onto the orange paper, about 3/4 of the page, trace it with the black marker, and then cut it out.

Body

  1. Cut a short dome from the blue paper or another color, about 4 inches by 8 inches, and set it aside.

FACE

Eyebrows

  1. Slightly fold over your black paper, draw an eyebrow, and cut through both layers.

Nose

  1. Trace your thumb loosely, cut it out, then trace it with the marker.

Eyes

  1. On the yellow paper, make one eye shorter (2 inches) and one eye longer (2+ inches), draw a black iris on each eye, then trace the eyes with the marker, and cut them both out.

Mouth

  1. From the black paper, cut a large, wide smile.

  2. From the white and pink papers, cut teeth and a tongue, then glue them on.

ASSEMBLE

  1. Glue the body to the bottom of the page, followed by the head near the top, and the curved antennae at the top, behind the head.

2. Glue the eyebrows near the antennae, the eyes close to each other, with the irises facing each other, the nose angled underneath, and the mouth.

3. Outline the mouth with the marker and draw the arms on the body.

That’s it!

We’re so thankful our buddy was inspired by the tools he received in his Hope Box. His creativity inspired ours!

Happy crafting,

Amanda and Naomi
