Hi friends,
This weekend, our Beet Print Blooms & Pinwheels were inspired by the deep color and juice that oozes out of cut beets.
I roasted beets this weekend, but saved a few for our craft. We then placed them in a bit of water and made our unique prints. I learned a little late in life that I should wear gloves when prepping beets, as my hands always got dyed lol. Check out the prints below.

PINWHEELS
Place your paper onto the cookie sheet, in case there’s any bleedthrough, and wear your gloves.
Press your beet onto the paper, repeat facing the same direction, and in a circular shape. If the beet begins to dry out, press it into the water.
FLOWERS
a) Repeat the steps above with the prints overlapped more for large flowers.
b) Stamp the beet, then flip it over and line it up with the straight edge of the first stamp, then press it down. Repeat in a circular shape. This creates large pointed petals.
c) Use the ends/narrow edges to create thin petals.
d) Use the edges/corners to create the center parts of the flowers.
Use different-sized pieces to create larger/smaller flowers.
STEMS & RODS
Use the colored pencils to create the flower stems and the pinwheel rods. We kept them all the same color.
GRASS
Use all the colored pencils to create many blades of grass.
Let the prints dry for about 5- 10 minutes.
That’s it!
Happy crafting,
Amanda and Naomi
