Hi Friends,
This week, we used cotton balls and a clothespin to dab fall-colored paint onto paper plates for our Fall Cotton Ball Painted Butterflies.
These butterflies dry quickly, which makes this craft a fast one to complete. Covering your workspace before painting will also make this less messy. Check out the butterflies below.

What You'll Need
White Paper Plates
Black Pipe Cleaner (1 per 2 butterflies)
Pencil
Scissors
Hole Punch
Cotton Balls
Clothespin
Craft Paints
Table Cover/ Newspaper
Optional: Paint Tray/Extra Plate
The Steps

PREP
Turn your paper plate over and draw a butterfly with the head in the middle.
If you’re making more than one butterfly, stack the plates, hold them firmly, and then cut through the layers.
Punch a hole in the head for each butterfly.
PAINT
Face your butterfly forward (wings up) or backwards (wings down), dab black paint with the cotton ball and clothespin onto the head and body.
Use different cotton balls and fall-colored paints to dab your butterfly until it’s covered in paint. Overlap the colors and/or create designs.
Set the butterflies aside to dry for about five minutes.
ASSEMBLE
Cut the pipe cleaner in half.
Feed one-third of the pipe cleaner through the back of the hole, then hold it in place while you loop the longer end through the hole twice.
You can leave the antennae straight or bend them outward a bit.
