SONIC: Dr. Eggman

Hi friends,

We’re sharing our third Sonic post with you! We previously shared Sonic: Tails & Sonic The Hedgehog, and now we bring you, Sonic: Dr. Eggman. Dr. Eggman is our first villain; unless you count the spiders we’ve made over the years haha, and one of Sonic’s enemies. Check out our 2 versions of Dr. Eggman and how to make them 3D as well.

What You'll Need

  1. White Paper Plate

  2. Whole Sheet of Brown Construction Paper, Off White/Tan Drawing Paper

  3. (1/2) Sheet Of Pink, White, Blue, & Black Construction Papers

  4. Scissors

  5. Pencil & White Colored Pencil

  6. Black Pen

  7. Glue

    Optional: Medicine Cup

The Steps

FACE

  1. Trace the plate onto the tan(drawing paper) and cut it out.

  2. Glue the paper onto the front of the plate.

GOGGLES

  1. Fold the black half-sheet in half.

  2. Draw your goggles at an angle, 4-5 inches wide x 3 inches high. The center band should be facing the folded part.

  3. Cut the goggles out and glue them to the top part of the head.

EYES/NOSE

  1. EYES: Draw 2 (2-inch) circles on the blue paper or use a larger medicine cup to trace and cut out the rounds.

  2. NOSE: Fold your pink half-sheet in half, draw the nose, and cut it out. Set the nose and eyes aside.

MUSTACHE

  1. Fold your full sheet of brown paper in half lengthwise, into a narrow piece, and then again in half(1/4 size).

  2. Open up the brown paper:

3D Mustache- glue only a 2-inch wide section on each side of the shorter crease, when it’s cut out the bushy part will be in 2 layers.

Flat Mustache- glue all of the insides, when it’s cut out it will be one solid piece.

  3. Fold the paper back up into the 1/4th size, draw the flat part of the mustache from the narrow folded side, and extend the bushy end as close to the edges.

  4. Cut out the mustache and set it aside temporarily.

MOUTH/TEETH

  1. Fold your white half-sheet in half and trace the edge of the plate starting from the fold, out to the outer edge.

  2. Cut the mouth out and draw only the upper teeth(far right) or both upper/lower teeth (inner right), then trace with the black pen.

MUSTACHE

5. Glue the mustache just a tad over the teeth.

For the 3D effect, spread open the layers on both sides and glue brown scraps in between to create the lift.

EYES/NOSE

3. NOSE:

3D- Glue the wider part of the nose facing up and with a pencil in between to help position it.

FLAT- Glue the narrow part facing up and flat.

4. Glue the eyes close to the nose(flat) or overlap the nose (3D), then draw the glare lines with the white colored pencil.

5. Last, draw the eyebrow/forehead lines.

That’s it!

Left: upper teeth only and flat mustache, Center: upper/lower teeth and 3D mustache. Both with 3D noses.

Happy crafting!
