Easy Minimalist Decor

Hi friends

Today we’re bringing you an easy-to-make decor piece, that is simple in appearance but totally customizable. It’s budget-friendly and a fun way to DIY your own decor. These canvas prints came from Dollar Tree, but if they aren’t your style, they offer floral, boho, playful, modern, or inspirational designs. Due to their tiny size, I decided to group identical ones for a larger piece. You can group as many as you want or make your own designs with blank canvases and paint. Check out how we made this easy minimalist decor piece below.

What You'll Need

(2) 8x8 Canvas Print or diy your own
(2) 12 in. Dowels
(4) 6 in. Dowels
Hot Glue
Scissors
Twine
Optional: Paint, Yarn

The Steps

Here are the two identical pieces stacked together with the design lined up vertically and then with the design split up and lined up horizontally.

Decide how you’re going to display your canvas pieces based on the design/s you’ve chosen.
(photo 1) I chose the vertical design.

2. (photo 1, 2) Flip the pieces over and add hot glue between them.

3. (photo 3) Press the pieces together and hold them firmly or clip them together until they dry.

4. (photo 1) Use hot glue and the shorter dowels to connect the two or more canvas pieces together. Reinforce the opposite side/s as well.

5. (photo 2) Flip your new, joined piece over and decide:

a) IF you want to use the short/long dowels b) where you’ll place them c) IF you’d like to paint them with craft paint d) IF you’d like to use twine or yarn. If you paint the dowels let them dry fully before moving on to the next step.

6. (photo 3) Use hot glue to add your dowels and to secure your twine/yarn however you’d like to wrap it.
